MGI - Department for Mechanization of Crop Production - Accredited Laboratory Examination for Plant Protection Machines

The Laboratory Examination carries out the examination of large scale plantation (horticultural) and filed land sprayers in accordance with the pertaining regulations. The Laboratory operates according to the criteria of MSZ EN ISO/IEC 17025 regulation.

Beside the accredited activity colleges of the Laboratory deal with the examination of plant protection machines in field and measure the spray distribution under laboratory circumstances as well as drift in wind tunnel. Concerning the proper operation of the machines the Laboratory fulfils advisory role. Laboratory performs development and testing of marketable technologies and products (new sprayers, new spraying technologies) in cooperation with national and international manufacturers and distributors.

The NAIK MGI is the member of the European Network for Testing of Agricultural Machines – ENTAM. According to the ENTAM protocol the Laboratory performs plant protection machine examinations which are accepted in all ENTAM member states.

The Laboratory plays important role in training of professionals and education also on the university leveland conducts theoretical and practical trainings and demonstrations on a regular basis.

The main objective of the Laboratory is to support the development of plant protection machines and technologies and improve their efficiency and to ensure the environmental policy based proper machine operation.
